2024 Gilbert Chardonnay

Chiselled, linear cool climate Chardonnay.  The Gilbert family traces its Australian winemaking roots back to 1847 when Joseph Gilbert established the first vineyard and winery in the Eden Valley, South Australia and is recognised as being the first to plant Riesling in Australia.  Descendants Simon and son Will continue his legacy handcrafting cool climate wines in country NSW.  Based in Mudgee, sourcing fruit locally and from the cooler climate region of Orange, Simon and Will produce wines of elegance with fresh appeal.  Will Gilbert is the sixth-generation of winemaking in the family.  Since teaming up with his father as co-winemaker, Gilbert Family Wines has gone from strength to strength.  The 2024 Chardonnay is lean and precise.  Stone fruit, melon and flint with subtle cashew undertones.  Chardonnay with texture, purity and class.
