2024 Shy Susan Chardonnay

The wines of Shy Susan are created by husband and wife team Glenn James and Jo Marsh who are producing a unique range of wines from one of northeast Victoria’s most exciting vineyards.  The entire range is spectacular.  The Chardonnay comes from a ridiculously low yielding clone, and there are only two rows of it.  It takes the Shy Susan crew three days to pick a miniscule 900 kgs.  It sees no new oak, but instead, a combination of one year old and older oak ensures a seamless integration and harmonious balance. This is a Grade A Chardonnay.  Smoky notes, a bit of flint, a core of white peach, a smear of nougat.  It has an intensity, it’s complex, it’s elegant and it extends.  A striking Chardonnay of power and depth.
