2022 Yangarra King's Wood Shiraz

McLaren Vale Shiraz with finesse.  Sourced from a southeast-facing patch of ironstone and sandy soils, this is a wine of tension, depth and lifted savoury charm. With 20% whole bunches in the ferment and the rest carefully berry sorted, the juice sits on skins for approximatley 20 days before being gently basket pressed into large format French and Austrian foudres to age for 18 months.  Oak plays a quiet supporting role letting the fruit take centre stage.  Blood plum, black cherry, tapenade, and wood spice, with fine but firm tannins.  This is a structured and exquisitely poised wine.
